I worked as Graduate Teaching Assistant for International Economics and Grader for Macroeconomics, and I have to say teaching assistantship was one of the unexpected yet wonderful opportunities that I was given at Tufts. The students’ views were refreshing and kept me mindful of the intuitive and practical importance of economic theories. I wouldn’t have had the chance to interact with and learn from the students otherwise.

I analyzed costs and promotions data for Stop & Shop, and I maintained reports that helped better understand the company’s revenue streams. Even though the retail service was not my expertise, my analytic skills were highly appreciated in the department, and I am glad to start my first full-time experience in such a supportive yet constantly-evolving environment.

Mental health is another field that I feel eager to learn more about. I helped Professor Hyeouk Hahm with her grant proposals, presentations and group therapy sessions. I also had the honor to contribute to one of her book chapters exploring the social and economic factors behind mental health disorders among Asian American women.
